Образовательные:

II. Постановка цели и задач. . Let’s start our lesson. I hope you will guess the topic of our lesson yourselves from the presentation. Look at it, please.

T. : Now tell me , please, what is topic of our lesson?
S. The Mass media.
T.: Yes, you are right. It’s the Mass media.
Today at the lesson we’ll speak about Mass Media, get information and share opinions about it. Mass media is a very popular topic, it includes newspapers, TV, radio and Internet.

T.: Last lesson we spoke about space discoveries a lot. At home you continued to find information about them. Now will you share your information with me and your classmates.
S.: Mankind always dreamed of overcoming gravitation and reaching other planets. But it was only in the 1960ies that this dream was to become reality.
S.: On the 12th of April 1961 the spaceship «Vostok» was launched into space with a man on board and after orbiting our planet successfully returned to the Earth.
S.:The first man to overcome gravitation and orbit the Earth was Yuri Gagarin. This day went down in history of mankind as an outstanding achievement, opening the space era.
S.:In the course of space exploration there have been lots of achievements of world science and technology. This period saw the launching of many earth satellites, numerous space laboratories.
T.: I see you tried a lot. Your reports are very interesting. Thank you. Will you add any facts?
S.: Among the achievements we may enumerate the landing of automatic stations on the Moon, the flights of space laboratories towards Venus and Mars.
S.;These are the years of manned space flight programmes: Valentina Tereshkova was the first woman-cosmonaut to make a space flight, A. A. Leonov achieved the first «space walk» in 1965, the first Soviet experimental station with four cosmonauts on tjoard went into orbit, the first American expedition landed on the Moon.

"Television, computers, books"
As far as books and computers are concerned, I can say in my firm confidence that computers will never replace books. First because they fulfil different functions. It's true that both books and computers contain information. But one computer is worth the whole library. So perhaps, computers will replace reference books because it's quicker and easier to find the necessary information in the computer than in reference books.
But I'm sure computers can't be compared to fiction. Historical novels, adventure books, detective stories, science fiction, romance, poems, recommended by teachers create a special atmosphere. They take us into the imaginary world of high human emotions, exciting relations. A computer can help you in reading these books without turning the pages but working on the computer demands certain effort. You are to sit straight, not to stoop, you keep your finger on the keyboard. Besides computers have a harmful impact on the eyesight. In me opinion, it's impossible to read "War and Peace" on the screen. We'll lack something important: the invisible contact with the writer who speaks with us from the passed centuries.
As to TV, it's role is expressed in the proverb, "It's better to see than to hear". Paraphrasing it we can say it's good to see after you have read. Screen versions of literary masterpieces add much to our understanding the author and arouse unforgettable emotions. But books are the greatest wonders in the world, which brings us knowledge and bring us up. Through centuries and distances we can keep in touch with the greatest minds in the universe.

Ученики разделены на 2 группы. Придумывают название газеты для себя. Получив задание составить вопросы «звезде», составляют их в группе сообща.
Teacher: Now let's play. Try to imagine that you are journalists from two local newspapers. You have an interesting meeting with a star today. You have only several minutes to make up about 5-7 questions for her in your group.
